Appreciation Luncheon of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong – Foundation
The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong – Foundation (HSUHK – Foundation) is established to serve as a platform to engage our donors, connecting them to the advancement of its teaching, learning and research priorities. Unlike other publicly-funded institutions, The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) has no subsidy from the government or any other organisations. Therefore, support from individuals, industrial and commercial entities, and all societal sectors is of utmost importance for HSUHK’s future development.
Since its establishment, the Foundation has received recognition from many enthusiastic supporters, providing stable resources to expand and improve teaching and learning facilities and develop a greater variety of disciplines. In appreciation of the long-term support from the members of the Foundation, HSUHK arranged two luncheons on 5 June and 15 June 2023 to introduce its latest developments and provide members with a better understanding of its current state and future plans.
The luncheon was hosted by Dr Patrick Poon, Chairman of HSUHK—Foundation Management Committee; along with President Prof. Simon Ho; Dr Tom Fong, the Vice- President (Organisational Development); and Ms Elisa Chan, the Director of Advancement and Alumni Affairs. During the luncheon, they introduced to the members the construction progress, facilities and design concept of the “Creative Humanities Hub”, the new teaching building, as well as the University’s development blueprint. They hoped to gather feedback and support from the members for the advancement of HSUHK.
