NAMING AND APPRECIATION CEREMONY OF TIN KA PING INSTITUTE FOR CHINESE LANGUAGE AND CULTURE
In appreciation of the genuine donation from Tin Ka Ping Foundation in support of the construction of the new Academic Building (Creative Humanities Hub) and its long-term development, The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) held the Naming and Appreciation Ceremony of Tin Ka Ping Institute for Chinese Language and Culture on 5 December 2023. Guests of the ceremony included Mr Tin Hing-sin, Chairman of the Board of Tin Ka Ping Foundation; Dr Yuen Pong-yiu, Director of Tin Ka Ping Foundation; Dr Patrick Poon, Governor and Chairman of Fundraising and Donation Committee and Foundation Management Committee of HSUHK; and Professor Simon S M Ho, President of HSUHK.
In his welcome remarks, President Simon Ho expressed his gratitude to Tin Ka Ping Foundation for their longstanding support and guidance to HSUHK. The University will continue to nurture outstanding talents with innovative minds, caring attitudes, and social responsibility for the community through our unique “Liberal + Professional” education model, making contributions to Hong Kong, our country, and the world.
Mr Tin commended HSUHK for its dedication to higher education during his speech, fully supporting the University’s emphasis on holistic student development. The Foundation anticipated continuing its collaboration with HSUHK to cultivate more outstanding young talents for our community in the years to come.
Tin Ka Ping Institute for Chinese Language and Culture (the Institute) is located on the second floor of S H Ho Academic Building on the North Campus, with an area of around 116 square meters. The Institute regularly organises various types of Chinese cultural activities and seminars to deepen students’ understanding of Chinese culture and appreciate its essence.
