“The Eco-Pledge Campaign” Celebrates 10th Anniversary : “The Eco-Pledge Day” wins the “Best of Asia-Pacific Region Award” in 2025 CASE’s Circle of Excellence Awards

The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK)’s “The Eco-Pledge Day” won “2025 Best of CASE Asia-Pacific Region Award” by the Council for Advancement and Support Education (CASE). HSUHK is the only local non-profit private university among CASE member institutions to receive this award this year. A total of 640 institutions from 33 countries submitted nearly 4,500 projects competing for various awards. Following its success in 2022 with the “HSUHK FunD Virtual Run,” which won the Silver Award (Special Events/Online Fundraisers) at the global level and “The Best of Asia-Pacific Award” in the CASE’s 2022 Circle of Excellence Awards, HSUHK has once again achieved recognition. The success of HSUHK in this award reflects the recognition and appreciation of its initiatives.

HSUHK is committed to striving for a green campus through construction and an ambient learning environment. To support the University’s  sustainable development, HSUHK launched “The Eco-Pledge Campaign” in 2014, which not only raises funds for campus development but also embodies the concept of “environmental education.” To celebrate the tenth anniversary of this Campaign on 21 June 2024, President Simon Ho dressed in gardening gear, alongside Dr Roy Chung, Founder of the Bright Future Charitable Foundation and Member of the HSUK-Foundation Management Committee, and Dr Jacky Cheung, Council Member and alumnus. They led donors of “The Eco-Pledge Campaign”, alumni, staff members, and students to carry out a range of gardening activities that aimed at greening the campus and enhancing the sense of belonging among all participants through planting.

The judges noted that the “Eco-Pledge Day” has a creative design and unique activities that bring together donors, staff members, students and alumni. These peer-selected and adjudicated awards honour colleges, universities, and schools worldwide whose talented staff have advanced their organisations with resourcefulness and ingenuity.

The Council for Advancement and Support Education (CASE) is a non-profit international association dedicated to providing training and services to advancement professionals in alumni relations, communications, development, marketing, and advancement services- who share the goal of championing education to transform lives and society.

President Ho along with Dr Roy Chung and Dr Jacky Cheung actively participated in the "The Eco-Pledge Campaign” gardening activity, working together to green the campus.
