President’s Chatroom Series – Liberal+Professional: Critical Thinking Empowering an Enriched Life

In an era marked by rapid changes brought about by globalisation, geopolitics, economic transformation, AI and technological innovation, ageing population, and growing climate concerns, are these developments risks or opportunities? Adopting a cross‑disciplinary and cross‑cultural perspective, this Chatroom will explore how individuals can navigate such a dynamic environment, make informed education, career and investment choices, and even pursue innovation, while reflecting on how to pursue purposes and fulfillments amid uncertainties.

Drawing on the “Liberal + Professional” education concept, Professor Simon S. M. Ho, President of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK), will be joined by Dr Francis Yuen, Chairman of Ortus Capital Management Limited and Adjunct Professor of HSUHK, and Dr Haitao Zhang, Vice Chairman of CITIC Capital Holdings Limited, will explore and share their insights on how this concept can support young people’s personal growth and the cultivation of a “liberal approach to life”,  via developing core transferable competencies including curiosity, critical thinking, and creative problem solving, etc.

Join us for an inspiring discussion on turning global challenges into pathways for growth and success.
