HSUHK’s “The Eco-Pledge Day” wins the “Best of Asia-Pacific Region Award” in 2025 CASE’s Circle of Excellence Awards
The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK)’s “The Eco-Pledge Day” won the 2025 Best of CASE Asia-Pacific Region Award by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). HSUHK is the only local non-profit private university among this year’s CASE member institutions to receive this prestigious international honour. A total of nearly 4,500 entries from 640 institutions across 33 countries submitted for various award categories.
Ms Elisa Chan, Director of Advancement and Alumni Affairs, attended the award presentation ceremony in Brisbane, Australia, on 8 May to receive the accolade, affirming the recognition and commendation of HSUHK’s initiatives. The University has long been committed to promoting sustainable development. Launched in 2014, “The Eco-Pledge Campaign” aims to raise funds for campus development while advocating the concept of “environmental education.”
To mark the 10th anniversary of the initiative, President Simon S. M. Ho, together with Dr Roy Chung, Founder of the Bright Future Charitable Foundation and Member of the HSUHK – Foundation Management Committee, and Dr Jacky Cheung, Council Member and alumnus of HSUHK, led donors of “The Eco-Pledge Campaign”, alumni, staff, and students in the “Eco-Pledge Day” planting activity on 21 June 2024, contributing to the greening of the campus.
The CASE judging panel commended HSUHK’s “Eco-Pledge Day” for its innovative approach and the creation of a distinctive programme that successfully brought together donors, staff, students, and alumni. CASE awards are rigorously assessed by peer reviewers from the education sector and aim to recognise outstanding, well-planned, and impactful initiatives by advancement professionals at higher education institutions worldwide
