On 15 September 2020, The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) was honoured to invite Mr Lee Yuan Siong, Group Chief Executive and President of AIA Group Limited (AIA); Mr Garth Jones, Group Chief Financial Officer; and Ms Emerald Ng, Associate Director, Group Corporate Communications; to the campus and had a detailed discussion on future support to the University. The visiting guests were warmly received by Dr Moses Cheng, Council Chairman; Dr Patrick Poon, Chairman of Fundraising and Donation Committee and HSUHK – Foundation Management Committee; President Simon Ho; Dr Tom Fong, Vice-President (Organisational Development); and Ms Elisa Chan, Director of Advancement and Alumni Affairs.

In his welcoming remarks, Chairman Cheng highlighted the history and swift development of HSUHK since its establishment back in the 1980s and shared his deep engagement in leading this dynamic and unique private university. Mr Lee was happy to witness that HSUHK’s commitment to higher education that had provided students with a unique option of further studies and university life. Taking the opportunity, HSUHK Senior Management expressed their gratitude to AIA for the Group’s plan in supporting the University in the near future.

The visiting guests went on a campus tour, covering Lee Quo Wei Academic Building, SCOM TV Studio and HSUHK Jockey Club Residential Colleges. They also had a brief exchange with an Associate Master and a student resident of Patrick S C Poon Amity College, gaining a better understanding of the University and its sustainable campus design.
