NAMING CEREMONY OF MR & MRS XIAO TAN PING HALL

In recognition of the generous donation of Mr and Mrs Xiao Tan Ping in support of the Hang Seng Management College (HSMC)’s development, student exchange programmes and internship schemes, HSMC held an unveiling ceremony of Mr & Mrs Xiao Tan Ping Hall on 8 June 2017.

 

Mr Martin Tam Tin Fong, member of Board of Governors, Mr & Mrs Xiao and President Simon S.M. Ho officiated at the ceremony with the presence of Hong Kong Shine Tak Foundation’s vice-chairperson and directors, HSMC’s senior management representatives, and Mr & Mrs Xiao’s relatives and business partners.

 

In his welcome address, Mr Tam said his long-standing relationship with the College which dates back to its establishment over 30 years ago. He highlighted the fact that the College has since been dedicated to grooming new talent and appealed for greater support from the wider community for HSMC so as to synergize concerted efforts to make Hong Kong even more prosperous.

 

In his speech, Mr Xiao highlighted the ultimate importance of education to society and his initiatives throughout the couple’s business career to give back to the community by donating to various charities in Hong Kong and mainland China. He expressed his appreciation for HSMC’s achievements in teaching students to become business professionals and virtuous citizens. Mr Xiao also looked forward to HSMC’s further contributions in the higher-education arena as a private university.

 

On behalf of HSMC, President Ho thanked Mr and Mrs Xiao’s generosity and stressed that HSMC was fully equipped to become a leading private university in anticipation of its attainment of university title by 2018. He disclosed that in a bid to ensure its sustainable development, the College would offer more degree programmes, student exchange schemes, and internship programmes to broaden students’ horizons. He also called for greater community support for HSMC’s endeavours to nurture our future generations.

 

Held at The Always, the post-ceremony luncheon provided an ideal opportunity for friendly exchange and relationship building among participating guests.
