ALUMNI HOMECOMING 2016

The first-ever Alumni Homecoming 2016 was successfully held on Hang Seng Management College (HSMC) campus from 16 July to 17 July 2016. Over 80 participants, including alumni, their friends and family members, HSMC staff members and students, were drawn to the event for an enjoyable weekend together.

To update participating alumni on the latest development of their alma mater, AAAO organized a guided campus tour by student ambassadors. During the tour, the alumni had a chance to familiarize themselves with the HSMC campus by visiting traditional classrooms and lecture rooms at building M as well as recently-completed facilities, including S H Ho Academic Building, Lee Quo Wei Academic Building and HSMC Plaza.

The HSMC Jockey Club Residential Colleges were opened for occupancy in September 2015 on the theme of “A Living and Learning Community”. Arrangements were made for participating alumni who wanted a taste of modern residential life to stay at Wellness College, and for those who preferred a walk down memory lane to stay at Old Hall.

At the BBQ dinner, Ms Ada Leung (Associate Vice-President, Advancement and Industry Liaisons) expressed her appreciation for the support of all participants for the reunion on campus, and took the opportunity to greet returning alumni and brief them on the latest progress of HSMC. Then Mr Ken Wong (alumni) was invited to sing at the gathering, followed by more singing performances by Mr Michael Poon (alumni) and Ms Cynthia Chan, a lecturer of the Chinese Department. For the great success of the BBQ dinner, we have the following generous sponsors to thank:

Food sponsor Mrs Stefanie Poon, an alumna

3D Infrared Korean Barbecue Grill sponsor German Pool; and

Wine sponsor Glory Sea Holdings Limited

Over breakfast the next morning, Mr Leung Ka Keung, Chairman of HSMC/HSSC Alumni Association (AA), urged alumni and students present to support HSMC by becoming AA members. Ms Maria Kwok, Hall Manager of Residential Colleges, also took the chance to introduce the hall mission, facilities and features to all participants. Over the two-day event, yoga class, pioneering-ballista building, and gym and other sports activities were organised for participating alumni’s thorough enjoyment.
