Whether to pursue a postgraduate degree is often a difficult question for fresh graduates and those who are looking for career advancement or career change. In response to the uprising concerns about postgraduate studies, the Department of Accountancy invited five alumni who graduated from the BBA (Hons) in Professional Accountancy and BBA (Hons) in Corporate Governance programmes to share their experience on 9 July 2021.

The Alumni Sharing Session was conducted in hybrid mode to allow flexibility for more alumni and current students to join either in person or online. The activity was supported by the Advancement and Alumni Affairs Office under its Subsidy for Alumni Activities Organised on School / Departmental Basis.

Before the sharing, a representative from the Student Affairs Office introduced the preparation timeline and support available from the University for current students to explore various postgraduate studies opportunities.

During the sharing, our alumni shared their views and thoughts and had an in-depth discussion with other speakers and the audience on various issues including the objectives of pursuing a master’s degree, timing for further study and key challenges on part-time study alongside with work commitment.
