Donation From Tsim Sha Tsui District Kaifong Welfare Association

The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) is pleased to announce a generous donation of HK$5 million from the Tsim Sha Tsui District Kaifong Welfare Association (the “Association”). Mr So Chung-ping, Chairman of the Association, along with his delegation, made the pledge on 5 February 2025, witnessed by President Simon Ho and Dr Josiah Chan, Vice-President (Organisational Development) of HSUHK.

Established in 1953, Tsim Sha Tsui District Kaifong Welfare Association is a non-profit welfare organisation dedicated to providing a diverse range of services to the community. The Association places a strong emphasis on higher education in Hong Kong and has built a long-term relationship with HSUHK. Since 2020, they have been supporting the University by setting up scholarships and bursaries, enabling many local students to strive for excellence in their studies while alleviating financial burdens. This latest donation further underscores the Association’s commitment to fostering educational opportunities and supporting the development of future leaders in Hong Kong.

“I am deeply grateful to the Association and Mr So for their generous donation. This support will significantly help us achieve our goals. Thank you for believing in our work and contributing to our mission,” expressed President Ho, conveying his heartfelt gratitude for the Association’s generosity.
