HSUHK proudly presents fundraising 45th Anniversary Concert Featuring Council Chairman, President and more
The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) held the “Uniquely Common” Concert at Hong Kong City Hall on 18 September 2025 to celebrate its 45th Anniversary of the founding of HSUHK, and to raise funds for its “Strategic Campus Development Fund”.
Dr Choi Yuk-lin, Secretary for Education was invited to serve as one of the officiating guests at the Concert. Featuring a stellar line-up of star performers, Dr Moses Cheng, Council Chairman of HSUHK; Dr Stephen Suen, Chairman of Marga Group; Mr Edwin Cheung; Mr Arnaldo Ho; Dr Alex Chui; Opera Singers from the Hong Kong Grand Opera; Dr Moses Cheng together with Mr Edward Cheng, Independent Non-executive Chairman of Hang Seng Bank; and Dr Anthony Chow, former Chairman of The Hong Kong Jockey Club had a trio performance. Professor Simon S. M. Ho, President of HSUHK, also performed drum music alongside Dr Patrick Poon and Dr Francis Yuen, Co-Chairmen of the Concert Advisory Committee, and other distinguished guests, students, staff and alumni.
Ms Diana Cesar, Chairman of the Board of Governors, expressed her gratitude to all those participating in this 45th Anniversary Concert to mark this special occasion. This occasion would not have been possible without the generosity of our donors and supporters.
Dr the Hon Moses Cheng, Chairman of the Council, remarked that the encouragement received for our inaugural concert in 2023 has inspired us to present the Concert once again this year.
President Ho stated that the Concert raises funds for the “Strategic Campus Development Fund”, supporting the overhaul renovation of our M Building which has stood for nearly half a century, and other expansion initiatives to accommodate the increasing student population and the launch of new programmes. He also hopes that this Concert will resonate with the University’s alumni and garner more their support.
Dr Patrick Poon and Dr Francis Yuen thanked various sectors of society for their support and participation, expressing that the Concert showcases the collective strength of the HSUHK community by bringing everyone together for a “Uniquely Common” evening.
To promote intergenerational collaborations, cultural exchange, and cultivate the diverse talents of young students, the Concert also featured an ensemble jointly by the Hong Kong iMusic Orchestra and the HSUHK Sinfonietta, as well as performances by HSUHK Choir, which is formed by a group of students and staff.
