On 14 January 2018, at the invitation of President Simon S. M. Ho; experienced hiker Dr Jacky Cheung Wah Keung, Member of College Council and HSMC alumnus; Mr Thomas Ching Wing Hong, Member of Fundraising and Donation Committee and Managing Director of Consolidated Marketing Group International Wealth Management Ltd., accompanied by his family; friends from different industries; HSMC alumni and staff; went hiking at Tate’s Cairn, enjoying nature and a relaxing time together.
Setting out from the Residential Colleges, the hiking group passed by Fa Sum Hang before reaching West Buffalo Hill. While taking in scenery of Shatin along the way, participants shared amusing anecdotes and exchanged views on the development of HSMC and higher education in Hong Kong. Apart from knowing more about the College, they were also offered hiking tips by Dr Cheung.
After the journey, participants returned to HSMC for lunch and more lively exchanges about education and current affairs at the Chinese restaurant on campus. It was indeed a refreshing and rewarding College outing.
