SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION 10TH ANNIVERSARY ALUMNI REUNION
The year 2021 marks the 10th Anniversary of the School of Communication (the School). The 10th Anniversary Alumni Reunion was held on 11 December under the auspices of the Advancement and Alumni Affairs Office to celebrate this remarkable milestone. Alumni from the Bachelor of Journalism and Communication (Honours) (BJC) and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Convergent Media and Communication Technology (BA-CMCT) returned to HSUHK, their alma mater, on this day and took the opportunity to celebrate the School’s 10th anniversary.
Professor Scarlet Tso, Associate Vice-President (Communication and Public Affairs) and Dean of School of Communication, Professor Ronald Chiu, Associate Dean, Dr James Chang, former Associate Dean, and Ms Glacial Cheng extended their warmest welcome to all participating alumni. They also shared many good memories and achievements of the School with the participants.
Over the past 10 years, the School of Communication has been providing liberal yet professional education programmes that feature a strong business orientation so that its graduates are able to embrace the rapid changes in the societal environment and the workplaces. During the gathering, several well-established alumni shared their precious experiences when studying at the School and also expressed their heartful gratitude to all teachers who gave them supports and care. They all said that the professional training they underwent in the programmes they studied at the School was helpful in understanding themselves better and making them more capable of finding a career path.
In addition to a sharing session by teachers and alumni, two talented alumni, Mr Tsang Wai To Brian (BJC Year 2020 graduate) and Mr So Hok Nam (BA-CMCT Year 2020 graduate) each sang a pop song to entertain the participants for which the loud applause elevated the atmosphere. The singing performance was followed by birthday cake cutting and group photo taking, which were the climax of the gathering. The activity then ended in the laughter of alumni and teachers. The School earnestly looks forward to another alumni gathering in the future. It also hopes to see more graduates in the future gatherings.
The celebration attracted a great number of alumni to return to their alma mater and the Advancement and Alumni Affairs Office would like to take this opportunity to thank the School for engaging alumni in a close-knit relationship with their alma mater.
