On 4 July 2018, Ms Shirley Poon, Head of Administration, Marketing & Sales Division of Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) was warmly received on campus by Prof. Simon S.M. Ho, President; Prof. Scarlet Tso, Associate Vice-President (Communications and Public Affairs); Prof. James Chang, Associate Dean of School of Communication; Ms Joanna Kwok, Director of Executive and Development Centre; Ms Glacial Cheng, Senior Lecturer, School of Communication; and Ms Betty To, Manager of Advancement and Alumni Affairs Office.

Ms Poon, an alumna of HSMC’s predecessor Hang Seng School of Commerce, was given a guided tour of the Lee Quo Wei Academic Building, SCOM Broadcasting Studio, the Sports and Amenities Centre, and the College Hall. During the homecoming visit, Ms Poon not only reminisced about her college days, but also marvelled at the rapid and impressive development of her alma mater over the past decade.

The campus tour was followed by a luncheon hosted by President Ho, who shared with Ms Poon the vision and mission as well as the recent developments and achievements of the College. In return, Ms Poon offered a vivid account of the latest developments and challenges facing the TV broadcasting industry.

Ms Poon expressed her appreciation of the HSMC’s liberal-arts-oriented education model and was supportive of exploring collaborative opportunities with the College in the future.
