Hsuhk Alumni Chill & Chat Series with Kerry Logistics (2nd Episode)
After the success of the inaugural episode, the second episode of “HSUHK Alumni Chill & Chat Series with Kerry Logistics” was successfully launched online on 9 November 2022. To allow alumni working at Kerry Logistics Group to have a reunion and an exchange of the latest development of the industry, academic staff members and current students were also invited to this exclusive event. As a renowned company in the industry, Kerry Logistics has its different businesses all around the world, and the event attracted over 100 HSUHK alumni, staff members and students to learn its success.
This second episode was hosted by Dr Tom Fong, Vice-President (Organisational Development). Prof. Chan Wai Sum, Dean of School of Decision Sciences, welcomed all participants for attending the online event. Mr Samuel Lau, Managing Director – Integrated Logistics North Asia, Kerry Logistics, was invited to be the guest speaker to give the audience an overview of the industry as well as both the work culture and career prospects at Kerry Logistics. Meanwhile, Dr George Ho, Programme Director of BBA-SCM Programme from the Department of Supply Chain and Information Management, shared on the industry updates and professional development.
Four alumni working at Kerry Logistics were invited to share their working experience in the company and the industry. One of them joined Kerry Logistics as graduate trainee and he was very thankful that the company has given him opportunities to express his views and lead different projects since he was a junior staff that time. He believed that it was important that both the company and the employees had mutual trust and commitment to continuous improvement.
Participants raised questions and the speaker interacted with both alumni and students. It was believed that the reunion and sharing sessions equipped all participants with both the background information and updates of the logistics industry.
