Exchange With representatives of Hong Kong Young Industrialists Council Ltd.
A seven-member delegation from Hong Kong Young Industrialists Council Ltd. (YIC) led by Mr Paul Tai, President of YIC, visited the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) on 30 August. They were warmly received by Prof. Simon Ho, President, Dr Tom Fong, Vice-President (Organisational Development), Prof. Chan Wai Sum, Dean of School of Decision Sciences, Dr Daniel Mo, Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning) of School of Decision Sciences, Ms Elisa Chan, Director of Advancement and Alumni Affairs, and Ms Alice Chan, Senior Manager of the Advancement and Alumni Affairs Office.
During a fruitful welcome session, Prof. Ho and Dr Fong together introduced to the guests the University’s latest developments including the Creative Humanities Hub, a 5-storey environmentally and sustainability-conscious construction located in the North Campus. It will house a lecture theatre, a gallery and a multi-media editing lab, providing flexible and diversified student development. The guests were delighted with the rapid expansion of HSUHK and working in nurturing young talents.
Mr Tai and the members also shared the recent developments of the YIC and praised the good working attitude of HSUHK graduates who have worked in their companies. Both sides shared their views on the education, vocational skills training and employment of students’ opportunities. Both YIC and HSUHK look forward to striving to strengthen our collaboration.
Afterwards, the guests were treated to a campus tour which provided them with a better understanding of the recent advancement of the University. The tour covered the Auditorium, “The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong – Foundation Wall” and the SCOM Cinema and TV Production Centre. The guests were impressed by the well-equipped facilities of HSUHK.
