“HSUHK FUND VIRTUAL RUN” WON THE SILVER AWARD IN 2022 CASE’S CIRCLE OF EXCELLENCE AWARDS
The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK)’s social engagement cum running event “HSUHK FunD Virtual Run” won a Silver Award at the global level in Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE)’s 2022 Circle of Excellence Awards under the “Special Events/ Online Fundraisers” category.
HSUHK was the only university in Hong Kong and the only private local university as a CASE member to receive this Award in 2022. This year, CASE received more than 4,500 entries from 636 institutions in nearly 30 countries.
“HSUHK FunD Virtual Run” featured a kick-off ceremony cum a treadmill team relay competition and a virtual run between 18 December 2021 and 2 January 2022 attracting over 670 participants comprised of members from the public, corporate organisations, alumni, staff and student communities, non-profit organisations and secondary school students. It aimed to:
- Unite all sectors of society to build an inclusive community
- Instil positive energy in the younger generation, promoting healthy living
- Reconnect with our alumni through this event and strengthen the alumni groups
- Raise funds for HSUHK’s campus expansion project and long-term strategic development
- Foster a giving culture among various stakeholders of society
The judges commented, “HSUHK created an event unique to its audience during a time when in-person connections were difficult to forge. The pivot to a virtual event could have derailed the event completely. Instead, it brought together a variety of stakeholders and created a first-of-its-kind event in Hong Kong.”
