HSUHK STUDENTS RECEIVED THE SECOND ROUND OF AIA SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) became one of the ten partner universities of the “AIA Scholarships” in Hong Kong in October 2020. The AIA Scholarships 2021/22 Awards Ceremony was held on 3 August 2022 whilst Mr Jacky Chan, AIA Regional Chief Executive and Group Chief Distribution Officer, and Co-chairman of AIA Scholarships Committee; Mr Alger Fung, Chief Executive Officer, AIA Hong Kong & Macau, and Director of AIA Foundation, offered their congratulations to the second 100 AIA Scholars from the partner universities.
In the 2021/22 academic year, HSUHK was pleased to have another five students receiving the AIA Scholarships. On behalf of her HSUHK’s fellow scholars, Miss Hitomi Leung, a first-year student of Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Cultural and Creative Industries, shared her university life and expressed her gratitude to AIA and HSUHK, “I am sincerely honoured to be selected as one of the recipients of the AIA Scholarships. With the scholarship, I can enhance the capital of success in my field of studies such as participation in drama workshops and purchase of supplies and equipment. I believe that the additional experiences can maximize my potential by increasing my self-understanding and improving my professional skills.”
This second round of scholarships is part of AIA’s October 2020 pledge of US$100 million to support 100 undergraduates every year to attend Hong Kong universities over the next several decades. The AIA Scholars will each receive an award of HK$50,000 every year throughout their undergraduate studies. Recipients of the scholarships are selected based on their track record of academic excellence and community service, as well as their need for financial support to pursue higher education.
